Why My Daily Spanish exists

¡Hola! I’m Frédéric, founder of My Daily Spanish.

I didn’t grow up confident with languages. When I learned English, I could read it and I could write it. But when it came to speaking, I froze.

What changed things wasn’t another grammar book. In the early 2000s, I started writing to a penpal in the United States. We exchanged letters for months, and then we met in person. The first hour was awkward: I overthought every sentence. Then I relaxed, and I started using the English I already had.

That moment stayed with me. Writing, speaking and a safe place to make mistakes: that is what builds real fluency. I built my first language-learning company on that idea. In 2016, a Spanish-speaking friend told me: “You should build the same thing for Spanish.” So I did, and that is how My Daily Spanish was born.

Since then, we have helped learners around the world stop studying Spanish in circles and start speaking it with confidence.

Use before perfection

It’s better to speak imperfect Spanish today than to learn one more grammar rule you never use. Mistakes aren’t a problem. They’re progress.

Feedback beats repetition

Practice matters. But if you don’t know what to fix, you can stay at the same level for years. Someone has to spot the mistakes you keep making.

A small habit beats a perfect plan

You don’t need hours a day or another app. You need a clear next step and the consistency to take it. Smart practice beats endless content.

Your coaches

Our coaches have an average of 7 years of teaching experience.

Every coach has a university degree in Spanish or language education, and some hold Master’s degrees or PhDs in linguistics.

Before joining our team, they also go through a screening process and test lessons to make sure they can teach effectively, not just speak Spanish well.

Our coaches come from across the Spanish-speaking world, so you’ll also get exposure to different accents, expressions, and cultures.
